tutorial no. 11
Going from to in PSP X.

-Very easy
-Translatable
-7 Steps
-Works with a wide variety of pictures

1. Crop & resize your base. DO NOT SHARPEN IT, DO NOT SOFTEN IT. Just leave it as it is.

2. Duplicate your base and set it to soft light. Then raise the saturation to 100 [Adjust > Hue & Saturation > Hue/Saturation/Lightness]

3. Make a new soft light layer and fill it with #2fbefd.

4. Make a new luminance layer and fill it with the same color.

5. Duplicate your base & drag it to the top. Set it to hard light.

6. Duplicate your base again & drag it to the top. Set it to darken and lower the opacity to 30.

7. Merge all. Sharpen and soften as necsessary. If the outcome isn't as colorful as you'd like you can add a saturation layer with settings as you see fit.

And you're done! I'd like to see what you've come up with. Comments are love <3 :)

This are probably silly questions but I'm stuck on setp 4 - how do we make a new luminance layer? (I have PSP 9) Also, in step 5, when I get to it,how do I "drag it to the top"?
ssupersonic on July 18th, 2007 05:48 pm (UTC)
to make a new luminance layer go to Layers > New Raster Layer and then change the blend mode to luminance and click okay. Then to drag a layer to the top... just click and hold and drag it. hope this helps some!
